Synopsis:

Fifteen years ago Cassie fled her hometown, taking with her an undeserved bad reputation and a broken heart. She reluctantly returns for her father’s funeral and comes face to face with the one who broke her heart. This encounter sends her packing again, only this time it’s not so easy to just leave and forget. Her visit opens old wounds, stokes old flames, and uncovers lies and deceit. It’s showdown time!

An excerpt:

“Why are you here?” Cassie snapped at him. He hadn't seen her come into the entry hall but there she was, looking angrier than a she-bear with missing cubs.
“I want to talk to you. Cassie, please....let's sit down and talk. Can we?”
“No....please leave my house. You are not invited and you are not welcome. Go. Now. Before I call someone.”
“Why? What did I do, Cassie? Talk to me.”
“We have nothing to talk about, Rudy.”
He stared at the floor and Cassie almost felt sorry for him, because he looked so pathetic. How did he find her? Why did he find her? She stared at his profile and remembered how she would stare at him that way when they were in high school. He never saw her looking. It was ironic that if that day had never happened, and he had come to her this way, she would have happily taken him into her arms. But that day did happen, and she could never forget it.

Rudy felt his pulse hammering away in his throat. She looked so beautiful in her long yellow summer dress. All he could think about was wrapping his arms around her and pressing his lips to hers. He wanted her--badly--more than he ever wanted anyone. Her scent reached his nostrils and as he breathed it in, he felt his heart kick into high gear. She was staring at him with a frown on her face. He had to say something--anything to keep her from throwing him out the door. Cassie wasn’t mean! She was sweet--always sweet. Whatever it was about him that turned her off,  he had to fix it.

First Review for Testosterone Poisoning!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting and quick read...March 3, 2015

This review is from: Testosterone Poisoning: Book 1: "It's what you do." (Kindle Edition)
I loved this book. It was constructed very well and held my attention. In fact, when I reached the middle of the book, I finished the balance in just two nights.
The story was believable and the two main characters were interesting. There was enough description to formulate a picture, but not too much to take away from the main story line. The sex scenes were tastefully done.
Carole blended the different view points within each chapter, which is not always easy to do.

I thank the reviewer very much!!

Thank you, Denninger Bolton, for this wonderful 5-star review of "Maddie's Garden"! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book!

Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase
Wonderful Christmas story. We all have choices, paths we can take. Maddie is a sweet, loving woman
and when she befriends a pair of four year old twins who have run away from home to escape their soon
to be step-mom who doesn’t like them, Maddie has taken her path. The twin’s father, now that’s a
different story, or actually this story. He’s got his own choices to make. Will he pick the best path
for the twins and him? Well, that’s what this book is all about. Carole McKee is a brilliant writer and
no matter what you like to read you will love this story.

Quite a different story idea, but good, nonetheless. Melanie is an altruistic business woman who really cares about other people. It warmed my heart to read about someone who does things to help the underdog. When she meets Tim she is put off by his lack of caring for others. Their relationship cannot go further unless he changes. The story is so refreshing and is a wonderful idea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring love storyApril 20, 2013

I really enjoyed this story. We need alot more Melanies in this world. Melanie is the dream boss, always looking out for her employees and helping those who are less fortunate. In walks handsome Tim who is trying to make the world a better place but only for rich. Melanie and Tim are totally the opposite until she gets to know him and finds they have more and more in common. But will Melanie let herself fall in love with him? You will have to read it yourself. Great Story!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good love storyAugust 21, 2014

This is a good love story. I enjoyed this book and really liked the main character, Melanie. She’s a kind-hearted boss we all wish we had, but seldom get. She hires people that need a second chance, and because of that, they are very dedicated employees. I liked the interplay between Melanie and Tim, the man she falls in love with. I’d recommend this book to anyone that enjoys warm-hearted love stories. But the book still has the needed conflict between the characters that is always necessary to make a novel a success.

Ms. McKee paints a lovely painting of a company of former destitute, down on their luck misfits that Melanie, the owner has hired to give them a second chance. She gets her own second chance as the story unfolds. A feel-good, pass it forward book, well worth reading, one that you cannot help but feel better once you read it. Highly recommended.

Melanie is quite refreshing in character by giving people a second chance. Her employees are dedicated to her for that reason.
When Tim and Melanie become lovers it becomes a love story. Will Melanie get to the bottom of who burned her store down. You'll have to read it to find out.

AWESOME!! Thank you for reading my book and thank you for the great review.
